AVX tracking accuracy
      #6333996 - 01/25/14 01:09 AM

Any quantitative experience with tracking accuracy for the AVX is appreciated...

Nothing specified in the Celestron documentation.

Bottom line is, if you want to do long exposure photography, you need to do auto-guiding to correct for the periodic error inherent in any mount short of the $10k+ offerings. Any mount in the AVX price class is going to have tracking errors that will show up in 1 min exposures, and 1 minute would only be achievable with very precise polar alignment and a bit of luck. With an auto-guider, you can easily do 5 min+ exposures with this mount. I expect the AVX is just as good as any other mount in it's price class. For visual use, the amount of tracking error is mostly irrelevant.
