I'd love to take a look at that Chalet folding trailer there. I was half interested in one myself. Though i have no idea where i'd store it.

I have the Chalet XL1935 and it easily fits in my car garage with 4 inches clearance on either side and is 19 feet long. We did not want a full size trailer but one that would fit in my garag. We have it equiped with 80 watt solar panels as well. We'll give people a tour when we are there.

Did you have fun driving that big huge motorhome into the field there, Mr Stacy?

And have you thought about cutting a big hole in the roof and putting in a retractable observatory dome? The 11" SCT could be remote-controlled and be viewed from that 42" flatpanel TV. I'd just love to see all the bays extending then -- left-front extends, left-rear extends, right extends, top dome goes up...

Wow! You look just like that pic of Douglas Fairbanks, Jr. In your avatar!

Edit: I see Stacy has punked the venerable D.F.Jr. and reinhabited his avatar.

2nd edit: Stacy! Cut that out!

Wish I was able to attend! Used to live about 25 miles from where this party is held! Kinda' makes me homesick!

Isn't LSU in Lowprairia?

What's the Grand Canyon Caverns?

Watch for other little star parties at the same place. I put on one annually, usually in June, this year in May. Other gangsters have been doing other, smaller ones in later summer new moons. You'd be most welcome, despite your confusion about the location of LSU.

L.S.U. is in Red Stick (Baton Rouge) Loseianna.

Grand Canyon Caverns is in NW Arizona. Dark Skies, low humidity, mid 90's in summer daytime. Look about 5 or 6 posts down from this one in the list of parties to see the flyer.

Wife's from Tacoma. Worked in Wa. most of my life, retired now. Be back in Wa. in 2015 for the summer, try to attend then.

Forgot to say High Prairie is about 25 miles SW of Goldendale. Took the kids to the observatory in Goldendale when they were little.

How many usually attend this event?

And is it an 'open to the public' or is this one of those private kind of things?

Everybody is welcome. Except axe murderers. They need to find another party.

As far as population, it can range anywhere from 1 (yourself), to about 25 depending on when you arrive and when you leave. Pretty laid back event. There is some rules at the beginning of the thread, and of course, we'd love to see some new faces this year.

It's always nice to give a "heads up" in this thread if you are planning to come, so we know who and about how many to expect.

Mike's the boss though. It is his place. After observing we parade him and Pixie around on the litter, then he whacks us all with his scepter and it's off to bed.
