Polar alignment on IOptron MT on a wedge?
      #6345919 - 01/30/14 08:04 PM

I just purchased an ADM wedge for my IOptron MT mount. Just got it installed. Now, I need to know how to get a polar alignment. Any help would. E appreciated. Thanks
Jim

Go to iOptron's website and download the Cube A manual. It uses a wedge and has a nice section of how you should set it up for polar aligning.

You will have to change your mount type in the HC to 'EQ' as well.

Oh, once you've figured out the polar alignment routine, you can auto-guide with the mount also, but you will need the iOptron ST-4 adapter.

Hope that helps...Paul

I tried all sorts of things with my MT. I ended up making a holder for a laser pointer that got me close to the NGP. I then would do:

The combination worked well.
