Anyone else been observing the M82 supernova? It's a type 1a and is near maximum brightness. I observed it last Friday with a friend shooting through a hole on the trees. Used the 6" Jaegers. Estimated about 11.2 visual magnitude. It's clear again tonight, I'm a little under the weather and we will try tomorrow. Should be around 10.7-10.5 and should be visible in 3" scope. 60mm from a dark site.
Get out there!! It's a rare event to have a SN visible in a small scope.

I observed it about a week ago with the 6" and 12.5". The observation through the bigger scope was a few days later, and showed an orange tint to it. It's been cloudy here and there's supposed to be a storm moving through this weekend
