How long did you have to wait for that mount?

Fantastic!
And now I will be the first to ask the stupid question: how does THE PEARL go back in its shell so that you can close the roof??

From the photo I would guess it is pointed south and the tube is rotated level

Charles got it right. Shot before the observatory was finished. Interesting Design. The RollOff total weight around 250 pounds for a 18x12 roof. Check out the video, the entire frame I welded up from EMT Electrical conduit $.20 per foot. and strong as heck!
Antonio, Actually that was the biggest question on my mind when I found the 9" AP. Initially I was building the observatory for a 6" F15 telescope and wanted the observatory lined up with Polaris but I made a mistake. On a hazy night after a long day at work I set the stakes for the lay out line for the foundation for the observatory. I pointed my layout line 7 degrees to the east, Picked the wrong star??? LOL.
Then I found the Pearl and it seemed it was to long to fit. But because of the error in alignment it pulled the focuser just far enough from the north wall to fit perfect when put away! Perfect Mistake.

Since this shot was taken I have completed the painting on the pier and a few other items on the OTA, You can see the misalignment in this shot and how the scope is not parallel to the west wall. When parked the focuser end is 3" from the north wall. Sometimes thing are just meant to be!

Personally I cannot say enough about the Series II Byers Mount. Flip it on and it works. No issues, No problems, it just works.
Building this observatory has been as much fun as using it!

Mike,
As it turned out, it has worked out perfect. I am glad I "Blew it".
Funny thing as a guy who has built $1200 psf Dream homes his whole life it is not the first time that a mistake while building something didn't make the project better than it would have been is built to plan.

Little frankenmount. Cg5 tripod with skyprodigy head. Pretty stable for what it is!

Beautiful setup! Great proportions. Serious eye-candy.

Like Clint said concerning my 1100, the OTA certainly put everything in perspective.

Clint, I miss my Byers Series II. What a beaut.

Jeff

Here's a picture of my 1100. Notice the color of the sky. That's the way it's been since I got it in early December. Three hours worth of observing so far...

Gotta be fun watching those mounts swing all that bling around.

Chances are I will never see an AP mount in person...so thanks for all the photos!

I was on the waiting list but had to pay for some medical bills last Fall, so I'm back on the list. Its a LOT of money, but I know it will be worth it.
