I will be boondocking in the Moonlight Manor so I should be OK. Myself and a couple friends may be joining you on the lower field. I was at the south end of the upper field last year but if my friend Wes comes his trailer is too big to go up there.

That will make 4 Casita's down there, that I know of and usually there are a couple more. Have our own Casita Rally.

Hi Dean

There may be 2 Casitas from our group if Mark makes it.

We should have a gathering while we are there.

Yep, got mine also. Waiting will not be too hard for me, leaving next weekend for WSP in the Keys. After the last couple months I need some sunshine in the days, and clear skies at night.

Hi Dean

Wish I was going to WSP. I have it on my "Bucket List" so maybe I will hitch up the Casita and get down there during the next few years. I have a pretty full starparty schedule this year. There are a few of us going out to the ESP site for a mini star party in April then TSP, RMSS, Okie-Tex and ESP and I am thinking of going to the Cosmic Campground in New Mexico for a week. https://sites.google.com/site/cosmiccampgroundinformation/home
There will be short trips to Ft Griffin SHS between the big starparties. Hopefully the weather will be good.

BTW...Where are you planning to set up at TSP?

Don't they normally have some last minute openings?

I missed the lottery last year and got a Tent site late in February. Put myself on a wait list for a Bunkhouse and got assigned one in March. As it turns out, 2 of the bunks in my bunkhouse stayed empty the whole week.

They definitely get cancellations later on.

I did it right this year and will be in Crow's Nest and Upper Field. This will be my 4th TSP. Did 97 and 98 when I lived in Dallas. And finally made it back last year after living in Colorado the last 14 years. I like the dynamics of the upper field and being amongst all the big boys!

Same thing happened to me in 2011. Two of the bunks were empty the whole week.

For any TSP'rs who should want to reach me, do it with a PM here, as I have asked my Facebook account be deleted. This had nothing to do with the TSP group on Facebook, which I thought was great. Look forward to seeing you.
Clear skies and clean glass,
Mike

Rather excited about this. It will be my first time to TSP. Sky-Watcher USA will be there with an array of scopes.

My first time as well, son is going with me and I convinced my brother to drive in from Phoenix. So it will be great to camp with the family.

Also just picked up a 'Skybox' from CCD-Freak so I am ready to roll. Should be Skybox city on the lower field.

John,

Plan to get there Sun afternoon. Going to stop and visit the Robert E. Howard museum in Cross Plains then spend the night in Midland on Sat. The sad part is after making plans my brother wants to leave on the 29th because that is his anniversary (wimp) and my son just told me he starts summer school on the morning of the 29th. So I guess we are leaving on the 28th.

May have to do Okie-Tex to get my annual allotment of dark skies.

Cheers!

Less than a month to go! I am looking forward to being in the Davis Mountains again. From the sound of it we are having a mini Casita rally within the star party. We had 4 at the X-Bar Ranch last week and I know of at least 6 coming to TSP. "Casita Astronomers Unite!"
