David,
Nice work. I saw the same irregularities in the NEB as well.

David, sorry I missed this one. Been focused on the moon of late.

Okay, that spot and a light area following it, the GRS coming around soon? You got festoons, which seem to be more difficult of late unless you happen to catch a nice central meridian. And some albedo in the north. Nice job, David.

David,

Jupiter has been putting on a great show this winter. It is just too bad that winter in the north usually means more and more clouds.

Great looking sketch as they always are from you.

Frank

Thanks guys it was great to get some observing done - although the weather was not good and my wife thought I was mad to observe in such poor conditions!!!

David,
I had the same experience. When heading out with a ski mask in -10F windchill, my wife was ready to commit me to a mental hospital

David,

Good sketch of Jupiter. I like your rendering of the NEB.

My wife has made some funny comments about my hobby but overall she is supportive.

David, great sketch. I love the details you pulled from the NEB and NTeB. Interesting spot in the SSTeB, too. Good work. I'm jealous of your scope, BTW.

David, as well you should be. That makes us even. Seeing makes ALMOST ALL the difference. Wanna swap?

I hope that came across light hearted as intended. Yea, you have a monster nice scope and I have excellent seeing. I am thankful for the latter and wish for the former.

Yea, David, you know I have had average seeing most of my decades. To finally plop down into good seeing locale has been a real treat. I am beside myself. Just saying how much seeing matters, really above all else.

But there is a price to pay, like everything else. One get's spoiled and expects it. When it doesn't come, it's so easy to get disappointed and pack it in with no back up plan.

In Ant III seeing here at times, man, I find it so hard to sketch Jupiter because the rotation get's ahead of me - detail is fleeting at best and it rotates before you can see much. If I cannot get a great view, I am disappointed...and that's sometimes wrong.
