Corrosion on my lx200 fork arms new
      #6377361 - 02/15/14 08:50 AM

All
I have some corrosion appearing on my lx200 fork arms which i would like to deal with. Has anyone experienced similar and what is the general consensus on how best to treat this.

Several years ago i stupidly left batteries in the fork arms which leaked and has created "pitting and bubbling" on the surface. This is different to the corrosion i have elsewhere and would be grateful for thoughts on treating this too?
Many thanks from a wet and windswept Brit
Paul

Take a Dremel with a wire brush head to the affected areas, wipe clean with solvent, and then repaint it in textured black paint.

If it looks anything like these two pictures your fighting a losing battle as it's a bad prep job from the factory and will continue to spread

Even that can be salvaged and re-finished. All you need is to remove the existing paint via sanding or grinding brush, then treat with the following:

Once you've done that, it can be painted normally.
