My 12.5mm Sirius Plossl is also good.

I like the moon in my 25mm Plossl, too. I can get the whole moon with room to spare around the edges.

It just gives a very pleasing view - don't you think Bill?

I replaced my original eps on the Old Scope with a 17mm Celestron SMA (wide angle) and a 6mm Celestron Plossl. The former gives a nice, full view of the whole moon with just enough detail to help me decide where to go for a closer look. The 6mm needs very good conditions to perform, but when I have those the views are surprisingly good.

Yep! Definitely. The view through my 40mm is excellent too, but I like the bigger image in the 25.

I might invest in a 17mm Plossl to see if that would be a good middle ground between my 25mm and the 12.5mm. I think that an Orion Highlight might be the order of the day..................

My Orion 17mm Sirius Plossl is just perfect in Burgess 127mm (f8) to put the entire moon in the field of view. I have the Orion variable polarizing filter, which I like to "dial in" just the right amount of filtration for the moon's given brightness. I never tire of observing the moon. In fact most of the time I find Saturn, Jupiter, and the moon my favorite objects for winter viewing. (Though hunting star clusters and double stars is a kick as well)... (Scott)
