I'm very excited to have just received my Herschel Observers LogBook!! Now I just need the clouds and rain to go away. Does anyone have one?

I don't but got instantly interested when I researched about it. Looks really nice and also gives a sense of an objective, a goal. I hope you enjoy these 400 objects! Cheers.

Thanks Guilherme Lessa! It's a beautiful book! you just find the messier object you are looking at in the book, and fill in all the needed info, plus a picture. I think it will challange me to really go after everything.

Is it a picture or a sketch? Many people believe that drawing sketches greatly increases the ability to discern features in objects and can even help you see things you wouldn't otherwise.

This observer's log seems to be a good incentive to go sketching whatever you observe. Have you been to the sketching forum yet? It's probably a nice place to go and become familiar with some of the techniques...

it's a sketch, and yes I have been there, there are some great posts that i have read there. I would take a picture of one of the pages, but i'm not sure if that is against the rules here.

I have the Herschel 400-1 log book, but I just got it for giggles. I use my own logbooks which I made, modeled after the original AL Messier logbook model. My Herschel log book is 400+ pages with each log entry on a single sided sheet, plus two indexes. I just wanted a larger format. It is complete. I am now working on the Herschel 400-2 of which I did the same format.
