I would love to think this new scope has that sort of influence...
However I'm up in northern Alberta.

Congratulations, that telescope will show you a LOT of deep sky objects from a reasonably dark site. You will want to familiarize yourself with it before taking it to a dark site. I suggest starting with the Moon, planets and bright deep sky objects you can see at home to learn your way around the telescope and the sky. If you haven't done so already, join a local club so you can if needed get hands on help and access to darker skies than you can get at home. It's always nice to observe with likeminded folks. Clear skies!

Taras

Congrats! Very nice setup! I too am also a Meade Man like LoveChina61 here...but Celestron is doing alright these days, you should be very happy with it. Take your time, learn everything about the setup, how everything works and you will be good to go.

Clear Skies!

I must admit I seriously underestimated the influence of these new scopes on local weather patterns... It can clear off any time now!!!

In the mean time I've been enjoying getting to know the gear and it's setup procedures.

Thanks again for you positive post. I'm very excited to get viewing!!
