rima sheepshanks again new
      #6515211 - 05/09/14 04:00 AM

A recent image I made displays Aristoteles, Eudoxus, Lacus Mortis and also Rima Sheepshanks. I have imaged the Rima Sheepshanks several times, including this session in lower solar illumination.
I state that Rima Sheepshanks is not difficult at all, and also with a Mak Cassegrain 18 cm is easily detectable. I have seen a part of rima sheepshanks also in the past using a polarex unitron 10 cm under steady skies using visual observation. However, that observation was made when the sky was better of today and also my eyes were younger than now... (10 years ago).

But using the modern ccd cameras i am demostrating that this rille is not difficult to be imaged with moderate telescopes of 7-8 inchs.

The result is here

Thanks for attention

Lighting is everything with this one I guess - that and seeing. I'm glad to see you've required it once again - the partial with the 100mm Unitron is phenomenal.

Bravo Raf.

Pete

I shall I shall - I'm usually not with scope during this phase if the moon however. I might get the waning moon phase one night and try that.
