Old LX200 8" Conversion?
      #65914 - 03/05/04 12:11 AM

HI, I'm new to the site and this is my first post.
I have an old (1995+-) LX200 8" with a bad Drive system. Question: Can the OTA be removed from the fork mount? I already have a new 12" LX200GPS-SMT UHTC. I would like to put the 8" on a EQT mount for dedicated astrophotography. Any suggestions are welcome....

You can get a pair of rings and a mounting rail from www.scopestuff.com and adapt this to a GEM.

Whoops, my mistake - rings aren't big enough. Try www.losmandy.com. They have a dovetail plate made specifically for the Meade 8".
