I have an old (1995+-) LX200 8" with a bad Drive system. Question: Can the OTA be removed from the fork mount? I already have a new 12" LX200GPS-SMT UHTC. I would like to put the 8" on a EQT mount for dedicated astrophotography. Any suggestions are welcome.... Try www.losmandy.com. They have a dovetail plate made specifically for the Meade 8".
