Quick solar scope question. new
      #6600633 - 06/25/14 03:01 AM

I'm interested in getting into solar imaging and viewing. I have a few friends, one with a SolarMax 90 and the other with a SolarMax II 60. Both have spare unused double stack etalons.

What i want to know is if it's possible use one of these with a suitable refractor and blocking filter like a bf10 or 15. I cant find any info if the double stack is different from a normal front mounted etalon.

Thanks.

Yes you can use a double stacking filter with a blocking filter on any scope to give you a single stacked view.

I used one for years as a single and it was great. You just need to get the right blocking filter for your scope.
