Equipment used: 8" f/4.9 Reflector @ 40x, hand-held Kodak DC280 digital camera, shot through the eyepiece (camera default exposure length), auto-levels and sharpen in Photoshop. Resized to 1280x1024 for use as a desktop. (:

Shot on Dec 29, 2003. Olympus d460 afocal eyepiece projection thru 30mm Ulitma, Sirus MV-1 filter (before i traded up for an NPC) & 120mm f/8.3 Orion (synta) achromat. This was a test of sorts with a new Steady Pix adapter. Havnt used it since. I'm just glad my wife didnt pay too much for it.

Here's my moon from 3/1/2004.

It is actually a composite of 12 separate captures of 100 frames each, stacked, and merged in Photoshop.
