You guys with Meade LX Scopes

Did you guys that have Meade LX SCT's keep the diagonal you got or did you upgrade it? I keep hearing that the Diagonals Meade ships with these scopes are not too good, hope it's not true. I asked this a while ago but think I got it in the wrong forum

I did upgrade mine but only because I wanted a 2" version. The diagonals they ship with are not the world's best but they are sufficient.

I had the 2" UHTC diagonal with mine and loved it!

Hi, Charles.

Yes, the diagonal Meade supplies with the 12" and 14" models is quite nice. The one they supply with the 8" and 10" is a notch or two below that one in quality.

edit - added the phrase "but quite usable!"

I have said more than once I actually think my Meade UHTC diagonal was/is better than my Tel Vue everbright coated 2 inch.

I never tried mine side by side with my Everbrite but it was surely at least comparable. Then again, so is my $99 William Optics!

The 2" diagonal that came with my 12"LX200 is fantastic. I think... The fog won't go away here on the coast of Santa Barbara long enough for me to see.
