Hello everyone. This is my humble attempt at an observatory. It is a homemade 10' wooden dome on an elevated deck on a gentle hill overlooking the countryside. The walls are 4' high with a step up entrance into the observatory. Thanks to everyone, you all have been so inspiring. Mike

I posted a few pictures on my Astro page at http://wrx-now.tripod.com. 2 of them are of the Skypod, myself and 2 friends got together on. There is a large area for guest scopes on the concrete pad. Inside we have a pier on an isolated concrete block, and we hope to start seriously observing this spring. We are just 6 miles from the plant that makes the pods. No shipping charges!

I find that the POD has enough room to set up my 8" SCT on the pier which is offset, and my LXD75 with SV102ED2 at the same time without interference between them. I think that Skyshed is working on a larger 8' diameter POD which should be really roomy!

I've posted shots of this one before, but everything inside has changed. Besides, I took this shot to commemorate finally getting the thing open after a sustained freeze (first time that's happened in the six years I've had it).

Love those cedar shingles! A photo like this reminds us why February should be banned from all calendars. Are the plants real? HELL, IS THAT GRASS REAL?
