I sure love your set up Mike. I wish time would have allowed us to stop in on the way back from Montana last Fall. Someday though!

Mike, I like the fact that you made it accessible from the house. Very, very convenient. Mine has the disadvantage of a 49 mile, 75 minute drive into semi primitive conditions. I must admit I am paying a big convenience penalty for open horizons and dark skies. How are the skies in Bellevue?

John.... On a dry summer night you can see all the stars in Ursa Minor. Yeah I didn't really see the need for a warm room when you gotta' warm house! Scott....Just let me know when your comin' thru the rye! Being retired early means every day is a Saturday! Mike

That's fantastic - cosy!
Where did you have the pier adapter plate for your EQ-6 made? Or did you buy it? I need one myself, that's why I ask.
Good work!

It is great to be here! A great forum indeed!
Thank you Carol, I hope to post here, but my English is so...
And thanks to you too, skybsd: I had the pier adapter plate made by a lathe operator, who works here in Spain, near my observatory. It is made with aluminium and its price was roughly 130 €.

Post away, my friend. If anything whilst learning come new English phrases, we might learn some Spanish ones too!

That's good to know. Do you think that the pier adapter fits well with your EQ-6? Do you think you could ask if they can make another one for me, please?
If you want, send me a private message, if you wish to discuss offline.
Thanks again, and keep posting more pictures!

Finally leaving lurker status here... hope I can keep up with the activity.
Here is a shot of my backyard observatory. I'm planning a second, out in the Anza Valley, where things are quite a bit darker.
Clear skies,

At last: THE DECK SHED!Or "Rubbermaid to the Rescue."
Since I use my C11 for visual only, I found a dense rubber floor mat('anti-fatigue mat' at Lowes) , concrete pavers and the Celestron AVP's actually work together. Solar venting and solar drop cloth on the roof keep temps down to 5 degrees above outside.
Sure beats lugging everything around.
