Jupiter and Io - May 3rd new
      #943145 - 05/05/06 07:10 PM Attachment (40 downloads)

It was nice watching the SSTB white ovals in the scope with some 5/10 seeing, though I ended up getting clouded out on the Io transit for the most part. I have some other AVI's to go through and also one nice AVI of Mars from the 5th.

Clear skies if you're out imaging this weekend.

Robert: That' a real beauty of a pic! Detail in the NEB is especially nice.

Thanks guys, it's been warmer this week with the jet stream also weakening especially on the 5th and today, hope the pesky clouds will go away.

David, with the lower altitude this year it's really going to take some very, very good seeing to get a real quality image, but we will try.
Hope you get some great conditions tonight!

Very nice image, Robert! I love the tilted angle! Looks very 3d that way! Loads of details too!
Looking forward for more!

(poor) opposition image new [Re: Jeffrey Sugden]
      #944144 - 05/06/06 01:36 PM Attachment (10 downloads)

Thanks Siim and Jeff!
I kind of gave up on processing the one above and just flipped the angle.

Here is an image in again trying transparency conditions on opposition night.
I tried an experiment with the LU075C where I used the R-G-B gain settings to increase the signal in addition to using the regular gain setting. Doing this I was still able to image using 15fps, though I could barely see Jupiter on the screen it was so dim.

Robert,

That is an outstanding pic.

How long did it take you to learn to take such good pictures?

Keep up the good work!

Thanks Chad and Joel,

Joel,

I purchased my first ToUcam almost exactly two years ago this month, and have learned and progressed together with a great crew of guys here on this forum (and on other imaging forums) who also started out around the same time.
