My Photoshop steps: Adjustments->Auto Levels* Adjustments->Hue/Saturation->Saturation +60 Filters->Smart Sharpen->Amount 100%, Radius 1
*Open the Levels dialog (cmd-L), click on "Options
." Select the "Enhance Per Channel Contrast" radio button. Click the white square next to "Highlights." Adjust the highlight color to H: 0°, S: 0%, B: 90%. (This is a light grey color that keeps the highlights from blowing out.) Click "OK." Click "OK." Click "OK" again. I don't save the new target colors.

Hi:
Wow! Thank you! This looks much better. If you notice the "ring" around the circumference of the planet's disk - is that a result of me not getting the Registax wavelets quite right, in your opinion?
Thanks so much again!
Tony.

Yup, those are from the wavelets, and I'm not sure how to avoid them.

Hi:
I took another whack and stepped the wavelets down a few notches - I lose a bit of detail, but I also lessen those rings too.

Thanks!

Tony: I might suggest turning the saturation up, and running gamma no higher than about 20% max at capture.
Jupiter is mostly forgiving in terms of color if there's plenty of it at capture.
"Ringing" is a headache well known to planetary imagers. At least 2 contributors to this dreaded nuisance are underexposed Avi's and less than excellent seeing.
PixInsight has a de-ringing feature in their Wavelets (excellent tool) that helps; but only up to a point and seems to reduce sharpnness slightly.
Thanks for posting, and keep 'em coming.
