I picked mine up at Borders. Check any of the local stores that sell Astronomy magazine (Wal Mart sells it, so it might have the atlas).

No thanks.. I have Uranometria Atlas both volumes with companion book already.
Maybe great for a new stargazer for basic familiarity.

I bought a copy, too. Decent, but not outstanding.

I also have a copy and I've been using it for a year. The star charts are good but the thin paper attracts moisture very quickly while observing. Other than that, the articles are good for planning an observing session. I find it good for beginners and intermediate observers like me.

I first saw this at the Nebraska Star Party last year when I a friend of mine picked up a copy. It was "OK", but the more I read of it, the more a few goofups and misconceptions in the descriptive portion of the Atlas seemed to rear their ugly heads. Its little occasional problems seemed to mirror some of the difficulties found in the editing of Astronomy Magazine, so I was not all that surprised to see them, although I was a little disappointed. It it useless? No, not at all. To me, it just should have been done a bit better than it was. Clear skies to you.

I stumbled across this link that might be of interest to anyone who already has The Atlas of the Stars or is considering buying it through Kalmbach Publishing.
How to convert The Atlas of The Stars to field use
Of course, you have to be willing to disassemble your copy and it seems there is more to this Atlas than just the star charts.
