BINOMEN:
Have any of you had any experience with the 120mm Zhumell "Parallax" giant binoculars? These glasses have 120mm objectives, which gather 44% more light than 100mm binos.
The Parallax sells for the same price as the Oberwerk BT100-45 ($1800), but without a tripod and with straight-through viewing.

Hal,
Does it look like the one discussed in this thread:

45° viewing is worth 20mm to me, but I can't deny the greater light gathering power of 120mm.

Ah yes, remember that thread? Did I not have it right all along? The 120mm binocular in question is the same one we evaluated in 2004. The 120mm objectives are just not at the same quality level of the 100mm's, therefore we won't put the Oberwerk name on it at this time. Also the mount is a bit inadequate in my opinion (uses the same tripod/mount as our 28-lb. 25/40x100). Regards, Kevin Busarow Oberwerk Corp.

Interesting to reread that thread. Never did get quite cleared up, did it? I clicked the old link and was directed to Astromart.
Nice seeing you again on the board, Kevin. You know me as a customer by another name but I'm incognito around here.

HEY ERIC:
It sure doesn't look like the one in the Oberwerk avatar! The website picture shows an outer aluminum shroud and a "stick-type" mount over the tripod.

Hal,
Kevin B is holding the 41 lb Fuji 150 in his avatar. I've met him. He is VERY strong! ;-))

I believe that is Stephen O'Meara holding up those big Fujis in the avatar. I bet he wasn't holding them for long.

Ah yes...Steven James O'Meara, of Messier Object fame!
I have his Messier book. Steve's favorite axe is the TV 102mm APO Refractor, which grabs 'em all from Hawaii.
