This thread is intended to be an ongoing list of 2007 star parties and events (open houses, expos, etc.) by date, with links to the parties/events websites for more information. Our hope is that you'll find an event you didn't know about near you to attend, meet new friends and old friends, and most of all -- have fun!

If you'd like to have a star party or event added, or see something that needs changing, please PM me with the relevant information (website preferred)!

Y'all may have noticed that dates are beginning to fill in on the 2007 calendar as event planners get their websites updated or folks PM me with info. If you have definite data on any events not shown here, please feel free to PM me!

In the meantime, since all of the 2006 events that were listed have wrapped up, that thread has now been unpinned. Fear not, friends; if you want to refer back to the 2006 star party calendar for any reason, you can find it here: 2006 Star Parties and Events

Several more dates have been filled in, and there's a new February Florida star party added to the list -- check things out if you haven't lately!

More new dates and new info filled in on the 2007 list! Among other things, Cherry Springs is in May instead of June, Peach State has moved to a new location, and StarQuest in New Jersey has moved to October from summer. I hope a lot of folks will get the chance to attend a big star party this year!

The 2007 Star Party season is getting in gear now! The list above has been updated with a few new entries, and also some new dates that were finally posted for other parties. Get out there to a star party near you, whether a big one listed here or a smaller one with a local club, either way you'll have a great time!

I'm headed to Texas Star Party myself at the end of next week!

The major June parties are done, but July through November still have plenty of fun awaiting YOU! Yes, that's right, YOU! Check out a star party near you this summer (or winter, for our southern hemisphere friends ); registration should still be open for all or most of the big ones listed above, and if there's an astronomy club local to you, they'll almost surely be having public and private observing nights throughout the summer. Or find some CN'ers in your area and get together with them (start a thread in this forum to find 'em!). Observing on your own is fun, but observing with others can be even better.

The year is ticking to a close, but there are still plenty of star parties left for this month -- many this weekend! -- and October, and a couple in November. If there's one near you, I encourage you to attend if you can. You'll likely have a fabulous time!
