Hello everyone. We had a freak snow storm the day before yesterday and the day after it was 60 degrees f. Everything melted and the sky was clear as a bell the following day for the first few hours. I took the opportunity to shoot a video of a really cool prom on the Sun that had a fork in it. The action looked pretty wild to me but unfortunately the clouds rolled in just as things were getting really good. Below is a link to the video which is 3 meg so modem users beware. Also it is best to download the video before playing it. Clear Skyz, LA Wild Prom Video

Thanks everyone. I'm looking forward to the next clear day. Jan and Feb months are typically rough seeing for me so I hope it starts turning around from here out. Clear Skyz, LA

Larry,
That's truly a "wild" and spectacular prom and that full disk CaK shot is one of the best I have ever seen!

That is completely brilliant! I love the way you can see the flow of material. There must be an awful lot of frames in there.

WOW!! That is one terrific video. So, over a period of 90 minutes there is all kinds of action going on up there. I think this is the first time I have seen something like this, and it really gives one a great perspective. On a slightly different note, I have just received the Coronado observing book, and Larry, I have to say there are also some great pix of yours in there. Double congratulations. Keith

Thanks everyone. I am getting my videos ready for a School presentation, hopefully this Thursday or Friday if all goes well. The class I will be showing the Sun to was looking at the SpaceWeather site today according to the teacher and saw that my video was posted. The teacher says they are really interested now in Solar stuff because of it so it should make for an interesting time. I just wish we had some good sun spots to show. Clear Skyz, LA

On this same day the clouds came in later and it got stormy. I shot some images of the oncoming storm blocking out the sun and made a video of it. Clear Skyz, LA
