Just spied the sun through cloud gap this afternoon and a small plage area and spot off east limb - can you confirm - it's not mentioned on spaceweather.com here's a rough shot - blue channel=disk+red channel=limb

I just received this: A new spot, possibly 0987 is visible on the eastern limb as of 12:28:00 March 23, 2008.
And I saw it a couple of hours ago, it's been very active apparently...

It is a spot, small but its there, I just got in from taking the shots, I'll post it on my afocal thread!!!!

Looks like a spot to me!
HINODE focused on a region without activity, but STEREO shows something possibly more exciting coming round the bend!...I love that new view of what's coming!...
