Nice loop prom March 30 new
      #2292167 - 03/30/08 05:40 AM Attachment (37 downloads)

There was a nice loop prominence today; a bit easier for me to image than all that lovely surface detail, so I did.

This is a bit scary. I just processed another, slightly better .avi and the prominence 'leans' the other way. These shots were not taken all that far apart, so I wouldn't have thought the prom had changed that much. Having said that, the raw images do look to slant different ways a bit, so perhaps over-zealous wavelet processing may not be to blame. Maybe.

So much to learn.

Beautiful. My observing conditions were, ummm, less than fully transparent; all that "lovely surface detail" was easily observed, but I could only barely tell that there were a couple of proms on the limb as well.

So thanks for posting your captures of this very dynamic prominence!

Sunny skies,

Jim
