Hi Everybody,
I am new into solar observing and I am considering buying
a Double Stack LS60HaDP with the BP1200.
I want to do both visual , bino and Photography work (with Canon EOS 40D).
Before I plunk the dough on this maybe someone can help me with someof questions.
1) Does the FT upgrade come with a 1.25" adapter?
2) is the second Etalon easily detached from the first etalon for prominence work - and after I remount the second etalon do I have to have a lot of experience for realigning and fine tuning ?
3) what is the focal length on the LS60THaDS ? The lunt site says 500mm but adorama website says 1200mm
Thanks for your help
Lihu

The second etalon is only 50mm in diameter and unscrews from the front of the scope. Re-alligning it should not be hard but until they ship some we don't know. The focal length is 500mm.

I had to cancel my preorder and go with the PST due to financial reasons. Too many things like tuition and bills are hitting me rather hard right now so I am lucky to be able to get that.
It disappoints me, but oh well. Im getting used to that lately.....

I cancelled my 200mm pre order also and went with the SolarMax 90. Got it in 2 weeks.

Have you had a chance to use it yet, or to compare it to any older SolarMax 90’s? I’ve been wondering how well these new Coronado products that are apparently now being manufactured/assembled in Mexico would compare to the older products produced in Tucson and Irvine.

Well, I don't know where it was assembled. I own a stacked PST also and I can tell you the difference between the two is certainly breathtaking. It seems to deloiver as promised. I can't say much for the draw tube focuser, but the rest of it is awesome.

Thanks and congratulations on the new scope. Yes, I have a DS PST also and there is no comparison between it and my Solar Spectrum 0.2A or my Solarscope DS 60’s. Still, the PST does give some nice views and is very convenient. I enjoy it primarily for the convenience of leaving it set up on a photo tripod for quick looks when I don’t have a chance to use the other scopes.

Hi Trevor, I want to assure everyone our first shipments are not going to be in Nov or Dec. We have already shipped some LS60TCaK, LS50FHa and LS60THa last week and have been shipping LS50FHa this week so far. Vince might be talking about new orders place today do have quite a long wait. OPT will be seeing there first shipments very soon. We did make the first shipment to Markus at Lunt Europe. The European dealers were the first to place orders and had some shows coming up. We are trying to ship everyday so please be patiant. We are working very hard here in Tucson and we know that everyone is very excited. Thank You, Rikki Hocking Lunt Solar Systems

Good evening all,
Here's some news that may help:
Today I called the vendor from whom I ordered a LS60TCaK (named withheld on purpose) and asked about the status of the order. The rep told me that the payment went out to Lunt 3 weeks ago and a call would be made to find out details. An hour later I got a call back that said:
--> I was #2 on their list for the LS60TCaK. --> The first units should be here within 2 weeks, earlier if we're lucky.
I was tempted to cancel the order since I have since located a Solarmax 70CaK (stuck in customs as we speak!) but hey, I'm #2. That's hard to give up!
So, there you go. Let's hope this time it's for real.
Blue skies,
Marc
