Prominence evolution (July 12)
      #2514226 - 07/12/08 05:43 AM

Yesterday's fast changing prom today sits majestically like some sort of giant bird about to take flight.

Who writes this rubbish?! Oh, it's me!

Rotating the image so the prominence is on top really makes it look statuesque, with the Sun as a base. I've considered installing an image rotator on my scope to do it for visual use. Does anyone here know of, or have experience with a commercial product for that purpose? I suppose a large Dove prism would do it, placed near my Daystar filter where the light is small and relatively collimated.

Thanks for the comments. Oh, and just for those who think it's never cloudy in Selsey. I didn't have a proper camera with me and had to resort to using my phone to do the catching...

Crikey...

It's been on off rain here all day, now clear, so may do some lunar imaging with the FL102 at long last.
