Heya....
The 20% downpayment we had to allocate...i wonder if its refundable?....I was in the top 3 in order placement and it was hinted at there, that the dealer I ordered from may be getting their first scopes and may be recieving my scope w/i a week.....that was a month and a half ago. Since then....i've had no updates whatsoever on its status. Whether they aren't getting enough info from Lunt, or their scopes are going to other folks...I can't help but feel a little mislead and beginning to wish I had spent the jing on upgrading my 80mm ED to a 120

Don't give up the ship yet. I think the next 2 weeks will see several of us getting our Lunts. I spoke to my dealer about 10 days ago, at which time he has received zero telescopes. 2 filter sets is all he received. My last starparty of the season is in early September, and I'm hoping I get mine before then.

Fox - Did you order a Ha scope as well or just the CaK?

Back in early July, OPT told a friend of mine that they expected their Lunt scopes to be received Friday July 4, and shipping within the next 2 weeks. My dealer, Anacortes Telescope, said essentially the same thing. Another friend of mine called Lunt directly and was told something about the loss leader scopes not shipping until pricier models/versions are shipped. Three weeks later, no one seems to have received anything.

Snow...just the Cak atm...like to go Ha eventually tho. and snork...the dealer I mentioned was one that you mentioned I emailed them today asking them directly if they were going to put up a fight over the 20% deposit should I decide the near complete lack of updated status will make me cancel. Its just a shame I have to threaten to cancel an order in order to get some info on a $1000 USD purchase (other stuff ordered as well)

Hold out Fox! I spoke with Rikki at Lunt today and she told me the lead time on a CaK scope placed today would most likely be about 4 weeks since they are catching up to their current preorder list. Chin up! I am quite sure the violet light is just at the end of the OTA.

Cheers!

Appreciate the encouragement, but i'm not sure i believe these folks anymore. I don't see how its possible that new order people will get a scope in 28 days when folks in the top 3 of the pre-order lists at dealers have yet to even get a notice they have the product for shipping.
I do QC at a production facility that makes various food products. Unless Lunt has numerous production lines (one for each product), I think 28 days is very optimistic. Opt has over 50 pre-orders alone of the 1200 HA scope. I hope she can prove me wrong

I will not hold my breath but Ifigure since I have been waiting for the Ha this long I'll keep my hopes up. I have been seeing more and more posts from people who are getting notified of their scopes shipping. I am keeping my fingers crossed for you.

Did you read my other post on the CaK review? Hopefully that will raise your spirits a little.

That's kewl...i couldn't see any reason why one can't swap in the diagonal into a refractor as long as the F/L is under 600mm so gj on the factfinding.
I'll try to chill out...tommorrow i'll make a giant poster of the CaK image and attach it to a tree in my backyard and then just point my scope at it and stare at it...it'll be good cuz i won't have to polar align for that.

For now much of the mechanicals are being made in Germany. I am sure the DE filters are being coated on contract. That really only leaves the etalons and the final assembly in AZ. Markus says that they have a small machine shop in AZ but the complicated stuff is being made in Germany. So, in effect there are a number of production lines. It's the final QC that will go slow. (Or at least I hope so.)

OK, No Polar Alignment - what about a Solar Alignment

OK Guys,
I may be crazy but after reading Mikes review of the CaK diagonal I just went berzerk and ordered a LS60CaK/BP1200/FT.

As they used to say " If you go on a spree, go the whole hog including the postage".

What can I do - I just trust these LUNT Guys/Gals

Anyone thinks I'm nuts ????
Let me know

It would be very very very hard to get a CaK filter wrong, if you had previously made them (which some of this team have at Coronado)

I suspect the lead-times on the Cak stuff will be considerably shorter than the Ha stuff. Etalon production appears to be much finikier than blocking/trimming filter production (despite the fact that it's the later which has the longevity issues).
