Finally got a break long enough to grab an image. Here it is >>>
Just a quick one this, i'm going to have a bit of a play with the data i've got and see if there's any more detail to be had. Taken with my SM40 @ f30, DMK31.
I think I prefer black and white as it shows more detail compared to when it's colourised.
Hope you all like it anyway.
Mark

Pretty! Nice to know it's still there and kicking. I was hoping to get a shot at it today (if the marine layer rolls back a bit...)
Clear skies.

Thanks for the kind words all of you! I've just had a torrential downpour here so are keeping my fingers crossed I can have another stab at imaging it before sundown if it clears up.

Great image Mark. I managed a shot about 10 minutes before your one so according to the GOES data http://www.swpc.noaa.gov/rt_plots/xray_1m.html we have caught the start and end of a B-class flare (if I'm reading it correctly).

Just checked the time stamp on the avi and it was actually 14:16ut - when I originally posted I was running from memory. Still, it definitely flared in between our 2 images!
