DayStar Quantum filters - opinions? new
      #3367115 - 09/30/09 09:38 PM

I am looking at upgrading my solar rig and was wondering about the DayStar Quantum filter sets. I have a 127mm mak-cas that I was thinking of using (with the full-aperture ERF) and was looking at the .7 or .6 angstrom versions (basically the same price point as the 100mm Lunt or 90mm Coronado).

I'd appreciate some feedback from anyone who has used the Quantum line on how well you found them to work and if the scope above would be suitable.

Thanks,

I WOULD STRONGLY RECCOMEND THAT YOU DO NOT BUY A DAYSTAR PRODUCT AT ALL OR AT LEAST WITHOUT TRYING IT OUT FIRST OR GETTING A WRITTEN GUARANTEE OF CASH BACK RETURN IF IT DOES NOT WORK.

I would strongly recommend Solar Spectrum if you want a rear-mounted filter. I would not recommend the “new” Daystar -
e-mail me if you want my story.
