My last 3 visual obs of Mira have been 6.0 (Oct 16th), 5.0 (Oct 23rd) and 4.0 (Oct 30th) - and still a fortnight to the predicted date of maximum. I reckon Mira has "plateaued" about equal to gamma Ceti (3.56 on the BAA VSS charts).
