I can't compete with the quite stunning images that have been posted of this area recently but this morning was probably my one and only chance to see it and film it given the limited solar elevation and general cloud cover in Scotland. I feel lucky to have got this much so post the image anyway for general interest. Lunt LS50 / B1200 on SkyWatcher ED-80 with Philips SPC900NC webcam. Cheers, Alan C.

Hello Alan,
I agree with Michael: it is a nice image. Imaging the sun is already a very challenging activity: doing it from Scotland must be twice as difficult

Great shot Alan. I'm hoping we all get clear skies as it it traverses the limb.

That looks just great from rainy Buffalo. The sun must be getting low from Scotland by now.
thanks for posting, Alan

I'm afraid the Sun is getting really quite low from Scotland as winter draws on but it is still worth making observations around midday or an hour either side if the cloud cooperates. No chance today of seeing the AR on the limb; raining hard! Nice to hear from an observer on the Isle of Skye(thanks Robert). One of the best clear skies I have ever seen was from up by Waternish a couple of years back. Anyway, thanks for the nice comments and lets hope for a clear cold winter. Cheers, Alan C.
