Double stacking with a LS100F filter?
      #3420475 - 10/30/09 04:03 PM

Hi all,
I am waiting on a Lunt 152 telescope (a substituted order after the demise of the LS200) and would dearly love to have a double-stacked scope. However the only way to double-stack would be with a $5k LS100F, making the scope effectively a double-stacked 100mm scope, or a LS160F (not even under consideration). Any thoughts on whether the performance increase is worth doubling my original expenditure on the telescope, particularly given the larger aperture of the scope in single-stack mode? I'm also aware that I am unlikely ever to send the scope back to the US for double-stacking after receiving it, and I may never be in the financial position to do so again, but I don't want to automatically double-stack for the sake of it.

By the way this is not meant to be one of those 'what a great scope I have' sort of posts. I just know there are some very experienced users here whose opinion I would value.

Thanks,
David
