First chance to observe the Sun since Oct 23rd ...
Disc pretty well blank in white light, CaK and Ha.
Large prominences on the SE limb
2009 Nov 03, 1223 UT. Solarscope 60 @ f/16, DMK41
and an even more spectacular group on the NW limb
2009 Nov 03, 1222 UT. Solarscope 60 @ f/16, DMK41
Seeing poor to bad (low altitude due to southerly declination of the Sun, can't expect much better till mid February) transparency good with drifting clouds (nasty big wintry shower type cumulonimbus, though the precipitation is just frequent heavy rain showers).

Hey Brian, glad you got to see the sun. Work means I can only see the sun (through my scope) on a weekend, or when it's clear when I take it into school for GCSE astronomy. Lets hope for some more activty soon!

Poor seeing?! Can't wait to see what you can do with good seeing.

Very nice processing Brian! Lots of detail in a small scale. Considering the seeing conditions you have performed a miracle!
Thanks for the update
