Located in Cassiopeia, I've been waiting for this one to get high enough to try for several months now. I could only find one image of it, at that was only of the lower portion. I didn't think I could get enough to show the whole thing, so I debated trying for the whole thing with the TMB 130 or go for more detail with the TMB 152. I'm glad I went for the wider FOV as the whole thing turned out much better than I had hoped for. I've seen it called Abell 85, but I've also seen that refer to a galaxy cluster (I think it's Abell 85 in planetary catalog). The color data is really lousy and I was lucky to get 30 minutes data for each channel that I could make do with.

Great job as usual Dean. Honestly, I don't think it will be long before you, Tonk or a couple others discover something never before seen. Yall boldly go where others fear to tread (HA, comets, etc.)

That's a great one.
I wonder how many frames from my 14" LX200R would be needed to cover that guy?
I do need to get moving on a wide field set-up but the bank account isn't cooperating.

Thanks Rick. What's your FOV? This guy is about 30-35 minutes across.

Hi Dean,
this is an awesome image of CTB1, I haven't seen any better of this object with the whole ring visible. CTB1 is one of the holy grails of the Deep Sky challenges for visual observers. I must admit that I tried to see it several time, but without any luck up to now.

Thanks everbody.
Reiner - I first found out about it from this visual report that just happened to have an image: http://www.astronomy-mall.com/Adventures.In.Deep.Space/ctb1.htm Luckily that also just happens to be one of the very few images on the web of it - if it weren't for that image, I probably wouldn't have gone for it.

Hi Dean,
I was so intrigued when I saw your image I wanted to give it a try right away. So I forgot to mention what a great processing job you did. Nice work!
