Telescope Reviews: A Lunar Bibliography

Here is a list of books about our favorite subject. This is in no way a comprehensive list of all the books available about the moon, but is offered as a starting point. You are encouraged to add any titles you have discovered and share them with us. We hope that everyone who uses these books will share their experience and insights as well.

While they are divided into broad categories, they occur in no particular order or rank of preference.

That we may keep this list organized, we ask that you follow these instructions:

HOW TO USE THE LIST:

To discuss any book on the list, first check to see if it is followed by the hyperlink "Discuss it here". If there is a link for that item, just click it and you will come to the existing discussion thread. Even if it is an old, buried thread it will come to the top again for everyone to see.

To add a new item to the list, or to begin a discussion on an item without a hyperlink after it, simply go back one level and start a new post in the Lunar Observing Forum using the title of the book for your post. We will then link your new post to the list so that everyone will find it again in the future. In this way we hope to generate a list of lunar resources with an associated discussion thread for each to preserve the running commentary. Please make each post about one title only, and use the existing thread if there is one.

We have not listed any sources for these materials, as most can be found through any number of booksellers, and we do not wish to endorse one over another. Some titles are out of print (OOP) but can be found at public libraries or through book search services and dealers in rare books. Questions or recommendations about where to buy any item on the list should be placed in the discussion thread for that item. (Remember, if there is no thread, help us by starting one!)
