Is there any software out there that has the WDSC in searchable format? I'm trying to work out an excel spreadsheet that would allow me to do this but am having a bear of a time figuring out the math to convert the RA and DEC coordinates to true RA and DEC.

The Washington catalog is a wealth of information but it doesn't allow you to search for potential targets by any criteria (Mag, SEP etc) because it is just text.

To search for double star targets matching criteria I use the Database Power Search tool in SkyTools 2. See attached image.

With VizieR you can also do some criteria searches in WDSC. See attached image.

BTW, my Avatar is showing WDS 08396+3955, my own double star

I have the 2000 WDS catalog in Excel format. Though I have used Sky Tools to search the WDS, I just find it easier to do specific searches in Excel.
