Interactive Milky Way (Finished) new
      #3425894 - 11/02/09 05:09 PM

I am learning how to use Flash to expand my web skills. Here is my first flash video/program. Its about 2 megs, may take a min to load. Mouse over the nebulae and click on them

I finished it with hubble images integrated

Milky Way Interactive

I plan to expand this a lot further as I learn more. Eventually making it so you can load the Hubble images. Also adding descriptions sound ect.

Cheers

Thats very cool , I can imagine a full milky way mosaic with lots of targets.

Good job with that David , always neat to see something new.

Excellent method for presenting your gallery of images! It provides 'the BIG picture' so to speak.

That what I am going for. I think people loose a sense of perspective when they see astrophotography. I am trying to tie it into something they can relate to like a wide field shot of the milky way.

Here is the work in progress with the Hubble integration. I only have the eagle done so far Still some bugs to work out.

very cool indeed. This is going to be very nice when you add more targets

Be careful with overdoing the "spin" effect. I lost the sense of which way up the closeups were in relation to the prior size. Also how about a "back one size" button. The "X" takes you back to the begining and I like to flick back and forwards between two adjacent sizes to get an idea of what I'm looking at.

Tonk

Thanks for the suggestions. I will see if I can add those features to it today sometime. I am really just experimenting as I learn and plan to add to it as I shoot more objects.

Cheers,
