I'm thinking 6-7:30 might be good for Andromeda and Triangulum, dbl cluster. Is Triangulum any good with an 8" SCT?
Of course I'll try Jupiter and Uranus after those.

Hi,
I envy you as it is cloudy with chance of rain this evening. M-31, M-32 and M-110 are good targets. Likewise the double cluster. M-33 is going to be a toughie and you would do better this weekend when the moon rises later. M-33 has a low surface brightness and is best seen using the lowest power eyepiece that you have.

M33 is the most awesome face on galaxy I have ever seen in an 8 inch scope . ........But .....You gotta grab it from a good dark sky site on a good night . If you're lucky , 5 spiral arms , direct vision . ..........Ive seen it once & once only that good .

Magnifications around 50x to 60x or there in abouts should work best .

Another galaxy clearly visible w/8" is NGC 404. It is in Andromeda, right next to Beta. If you use a wide field EP and center on Beta, the galaxy will be in FOV. Use higher power to remove the star (Beta) from the field.

I am going out this weekend. The moon will rise later in the evening and I am planning on spending some time on M-31. NGC 404 sounds like a worthy object, however its magnitude is 11.7. May have to save it until next week when the moon is completely gone.

Don't forget the spiral galaxy NGC 7331 in Pegasus and NGC 7662 (the Blue Snowball Nebula) in Andromeda. Some other worthwhile targets include the globular clusters M2 and M15 in Aquarius and Pegasus, NGC 7009 (the Saturn Nebula) in Aquarius, NGC 457 (the Owl Cluster) in Cassiopeia, and the open cluster M34 in Perseus.

NGC 404's visual magnitude is actually 10.0 so it is a lot brighter than 11.7.
