I really enjoyed this article. I live in the country and regularly take my 15x70s out with me when taking care of the horses. Once they're taken care of, I get a great chance to look up. It's a whole lot easier than packing out my telescope and just about as rewarding.

I usually get to M5 by going through Ophiuchus and Serpens Caput. There is a nice straight line of stars through these constellations starting at Sabik, going through Yed Posterior and Yed Prior, and ending up at Unukalhai. At Unukalhai, I take a 90º right turn and track right into M5 with my 10x50s or 15x70s.
