October 2006 "Bright" Imaging Challenge Winner - jayscheuerle's image of Crater Plato!

I didn't even mean to capture this. It was a random shot while trying to get my EQ platform to track correctly this past week (BIG user error). I believe it was a single frame grab from my Neximage. - j

January 2007 "Bright" Challenge Winner - UrbanStarSeeker's image of a Sunspot (possibly 940)!

This is my first ever shot with a video/web cam and only my second session solar imaging. Taken 2007-01-28 @ ~19:00UTC from my driveway in Fountain, CO. I believe it is sunspot 940.

Telescope: SV Nighthawk II
Mount: Orion Atlas EQ-G
Camera: Celestron NexImage
Solar Filter: Kendrick Baader Film filter
Other filters: Baader UV/IR cut
Technique: Eyepiece projection with a Zhumell variable projection adapter and a 20mm eyepiece that came with my Celestron scope. Approximate effective focal length 2700mm

Processing: Stacking and wavelets done in Registax v4 with single point alignment. Brought into Iris and replaced the blue channel with a copy of the green channel to fix the violet fringing from the achro, and then converted to grayscale and cropped.

This is 422 of 601 frames at 1/100 second shutter speed, 5fps.

March 2007 "Bright" Challenge Winner - Futzman's image of Planet Saturn!

This is my first season to image Saturn and it's been a tough target to get right.
Scope was my Celestron CGE C1400 using a Meade 3X Barlow with 2" extension tube for image scale. Camera was my DMK41AF02 monochrome firewire camera. Image is the result of stacking about 600 frames (200 red, 200 green, 200 blue) in Registax.
