In the SCT, it is a tough choice, but the 35 Pan has slightly better astigmatism correction and more eye relief. Cost wise, the 36 Hyperion has the advantage. Clear skies to you.

Thanks for the review David. I've used the 36mm Hyperion for several months now and I've been very happy with its performance. I use Panoptic eyepieces for shorter focal lengths (19 and 24mm) but I didn't want to spend that much for a 36mm eyepiece that is a bit of a 'specialty eyepiece' for my viewing habits. Overall, I think its performance is in line with the other Hyperion eyepieces I like: the 13 and 21 mm.

Thanks for taking the time to review an eyepiece that's more affordable than some other options.
Occasionally, I need a little external validation. Nice to know that you don't think I made an awful mistake.
If you need some external validation yourself, David, let me know. I've always appreciated the generosity of some of the knowledgeable, thoughtful members of our community who go to the trouble of sharing their experience and judgment. You certainly fit that bill to a "T."

Great review...concise and to the point 
Although a little different focal length, did you ever look thru a 40 Paragon or 40 Titan-II ED? Curious overall if you would put the percentage of clean FOV of the Hyperion in the same class, a little worse, a little better in the faster scopes?

Very nice review! Thank you.
I find the Hyperion 36 works just fine in an f/10 C8. It provides very good views without the high price of Naglers or a Panoptic 35.

I 100% agree with your review, you validated pretty much everything I said. I will say that the 31MM is a better eyepiece in faster scopes, I would like to read a review of the 31MM.

I have used the 40mm Paragon in my 9.25 inch f/10 SCT, and it performed well, but not a lot better than my old University Optics 40mm Mk-70 Konig. It is tough to say whether the 40 Paragon would be better than the 36 Hyperion since they differ enough in focal length. Both are pretty good eyepieces. Clear skies to you.

Nice review David. I had considered both the 31mm Aspheric and 36mm before ordering my 31mm Aspheric. I had heard that the 31mm was the better of the pair but after reading your review it would seem that the 36mm is about as good. I feel I could recommend either eyepiece now to any one interested. I have used my 31mm in the full range from my two f/5 newts to the f/10 C8 and have pleased with the views.

I enjoyed reading that review. I have the 31mm Aspheric, and used in my f4.5 I'd have to say the astigmatism and pincushion distortion is increased slightly, but as long as the scope is well collimated it's not objectionable. Transparency and contrast are superb.
With regards to the 1.25" adapter, I know it seems redundant to those who have 2" focusers, but for a long time that's all I had in my 10" f5.6. In THAT scope, I enjoyed comparing the view with my 32mm TV Plossl, and found that with the adapter installed, the AFOV was appx. 60 degrees, and edge quality was significantly better compared to the Plossl.
