While studying the Double Cluster last night... new
      #3435903 - 11/08/09 07:34 AM

a group of lights went shooting across my FOV! What the...
looked up and there was a jet passing by. In the eye piece it looked like a group of meteorites or something.
I also saw two satellites sail through my field of vision.
Lots of stuff in the skies!

Isn't cool when that happens!
I've frequently had a flock of birds pass by while I was looking at the Moon, or an airplaine, sure wakes you up!

A similar situation frieked me out this morning. LOL Intently gazing and lost in the amusement of the sky I heard a sound that made me thing someone was breaking into the neighbors garage, like the slow squeak of rollers on metal. Anyway ... it got enough of my attention to cause me to look up. The brain wasn't in a normal state after viewing for an hour at 4 a.m. The initial impulse of seeing 10 or more extremely white "blobs", almost symmetrical, moving in a Southerly direction, was quite startling. What the ... turned out to be Snow Geese in a loose formation. NOT something I expected to see at all in the wee hours of dark. "What the" turned into "marvelous"!!

the most bizzare thing i ever saw why observing was a large round gray thing that was goin up and left and right abit... took me few minutes of following it to realise that it was a weather baloon from the local meteo station that`s located 2km from my house.

Last night while observing two things happened that I just love. One a flock of geese fly over and I love seeing them in the EP for a fleeting second. Two, an owl fly over through the EP and landed in a tree on the property and stayed for awhile. Quite cool.

That's odd. I have never had a flock of birds pass by while looking at airplanes!

I had a 747 go right in front of the Sun while I was observing with my PST one time. It was absolutely fantastic looking. It appeared totally silhouetted and the jet trails were black as well. I wish I could have shot a pictue of it.

Recently I am seeing relatively large, perfectly round shadows crossing the surface of the moon, which i assume are from satellites?

that`s probably the shadow of mercury or venus, satellite shadows are too small to be noticable.

I saw that and wondered if it was a moon or shadow of a moon of Jupiter. Would an inner planet be cable to cast a shadow that distinct that distance?
