Do you actually see the mount in any of those pictures?

Thanks for the lead - I picked this one up today. Mirror is in excellent shape and turned out besides the ex-bino-occular EP in the scope, the accessory box had a 9mm Celestron Ortho, an Orion nebula filter and a 0.965 to T thread photo adapter that I can use, along with a drive motor and paddle for an older GEM. Definitely worth the trip!

Cave Astrola 6" ($50) on Chico, CA Craigslist new [Re: RLTYS]
      #4000322 - 08/22/10 10:35 PM

A complete Cave Optical Co. 6-inch F/7 or F/8 equatorially mounted Newtonian reflector telescope on the Chico, California Craigslist. Actually, a price tag of only $50 is the cheapest to date that I have seen for a complete Cave Astrola telescope. The ad was posted on August 22nd, 2010, and the link to the website is found through:

http://chico.craigslist.org/atq/1912991162.html
(I am not the seller of the telescope.)

Has anyone from the Cloudynight's group already bought this fine vintage reflector telescope? Did it come with any eyepieces or other accessories?

Monolux (Carton?) refractor on Fort Myers CL new [Re: RLTYS]
      #4000358 - 08/22/10 10:52 PM

An interesting post for an older refractor telescope. It is described as a "Monolux" brand, but looks much like a Carton Optical Co. model number 619-A. The focal length should also be a corrected F=900mm instead of the 190mm in the ad's header.

The advertisement was posted on August 22nd, 2010, and the link to the website is found through the following link:

http://fortmyers.craigslist.org/lee/for/1912301373.html
(I am not the seller of the telescope.)

Set of 3 vintage scopes on San Diego, CA CL new [Re: RLTYS]
      #4000369 - 08/22/10 11:00 PM

Three vintage telescopes to choose from in an advertisement on the San Diego, California Craigslist. The most desirable telescope among the three for amateur astronomers and collectors is the Meade 6-inch #628 optical tube assembly. I wonder what the "box of eyepieces" holds for the future purchaser?

The ad was posted on August 21st, 2010, and the direct link to the website is found through:

(I am not the seller of the telescope.)
