I have a pair here called 'Sabre Commodore'. Tried to research them on the net but couldn't find anything. The views in daytime are quite nice (although I'm a noob when it comes to all types of scopes). Very good brightness and clarity. Have not tried them at night yet but I plan to, tonight. Are these binoculars any good? Do you think they will be decent for star gazing and specifically seeing any galaxies or nebula?
Thanks!

Hi smodtactical, and welcome:
Most of us here wouldn't know without a photo and possibly a near date of manufacture. I've been in optics for decades and have never heard of it. That doesn't mean it's not a good bino. Many binos come into the country under as many names.
If you have a few hundred dollars and a couple of empty suitcases, you could have several Smodtactical Commodores by the middle of next week.
Submit a photo; the product may be recognized as a product of a more common name.
Cheers,
Bill

Thanks Bob:
They look like the Jason / Empire / Pencrest binos etc. etc. etc. of the late 50s and early 60s. The seller states they are out of collimation. So, for those who believe all that "you just have to turn these screws" stuff, it could be a worthwhile project for someone.
But, for those who consider their time worth 25% of minimum wage, it's probably a waste of time.
Just a thought,
BillC

Hey BillC and BobinKy, thanks for your replies. Yes those are the ones except bigger of course with the 50 lens. I have not read about how to check if mines are collimated yet or not, but I will eventually get to it (bit busy with exams at the moment).
To Bill and others, do you think these are any good if properly collimated?
I really appreciate all your expertise.

Just another branded 7x35 from one of the many optical companies in Japan. The real maker can only ge revealed by the JB codes stamped on the hinge between the objectives. This is a 7x35 not a 7x50, expect wide angle sharp cenral image will extensive softness towards edge of field. They will most certainly require cleaning, you should be able to pick up a nice wide Swift Trition/ Sport King for similar money.

Don't see any branding on them besides what I mentioned. It does say Korea on one side of them and they looked to have a hand-engraved serial code. Also they are 7x50's (it is stamped on the right side of them next to the eye piece) not 7x35s.

I should not comment too much here. For while I own several cheap binos, I certainly don't stand behind any of them. Many folks like to brag about their low-end acquisitions; Sorta like the fellow who brags about catching a 5-foot shark on 6 lb test line!
Yet, while one need not spend $1,000 to get a "good" binocular. New, a relatively good bino (read: lasting value)will cost $300+ quite easily. A bino is made up of the sum of its parts-not 1 or 2 facets.
Cheers,
BillC
