Does anyone know if the Explore Scientific Twilight I mount head will fit on a CG-5 tripod?

It should fit on the CG-5 tripod, as it appears to come with a CG-4 tripod. The AT-Voyager head fitted onto my HAL 120 tripod which is equivalent to the CG-5.
FWIW, the Porta II head can be bought separately and fits on to the CG-5 tripod.

I'm sure ES support can answer that question, just to confirm.

Yes, the AT-Voyager works just fine on the CG-5 tripod and the Orion SVP pier extension too. A CG-5 tripod with the 2" legs makes the Voyager a much different mount, a solid one capable of handling heavier and longer loads.

I've got an ES TW I and it has a 10mm / 1.5mm pitch threaded hole. I originally thought it had a 3/8" hole but later found it to be the M10 size when I adapted the mount head to fit on an old tripod for my Meade 2080 SCT. I don't know anything about the CG-5, however.

Hi Ed,
I just happened to have my new ES Twilight I sitting next to my CG5. It was an easy test to check fit. The ES fits the CG5 tripod perfectly. The only thing I had to do was remove the lock nut for the alignment peg and screw the peg all the way down. The thread size for the center attachment shaft is also identical (10mm). I also have the Voyager and have heard that it is also a direct fit. I don't have that handy to try but many have done that one. I hope this helps. I haven't tried the ES Twilight I yet, but it seems to be a nice mount. Kind of like the Voyager in that it can be used as a left or right side mount orientation. I like that feature.
Regards, Linda B.

Not to hijack the thread but would the same apply to the Twilight II ? I would not mind getting the Twilight II if I can use the the Orion Extension Pier I have for my CG5 mount.
