ES 100 5.5 for about $400. Not bad at all. Ethos 6 for $615. Eh...

Well... the listed price in the link Markus provided is 279 Euro, same as what the listed price is for the ES100 9mm. So isn't it possible that it may be released at the same sale price of $249 as the 9mm?

I wrote to ES USA and inquired as to its planned availability.

I did so last night as well. Here is what I just got back from ES:

"At this time, we do not have a US release date for this eyepiece."

After they've scooped up sales from early adapters maybe, so hold your horses.

Best,

Similarly with me. ES says, "This is new to us. I just spoke with David King and we do not have any news for this eyepiece. It is not on our productions schedule. I do not have any new if Germany is getting them or not but at this time in the States we do not have a production release date set."

There sure seems to be a lot of misinformation on the topic of this possible eyepiece. It seems the right hand does not know what the left hand is doing in this regard at ES, kinda weird as I feel ES is a company that definitely has their ducks-in-a-row. I sometimes wonder if they are just pinging the market interest in this fl through this forum with these tantalizing "release dates" and such. If such is the case then For the Record: YES, I WANT ONE, please!

I'd love to know this about the ES100's -- Why is it that the eyelense is recessed so much that useful eye relief is lost but the field lense is not recessed enough and therefore the 2" cap is leaving marks on the field lense? Wouldn't it make more sense to have the field lense recessed more and the eyelense recessed less?

Dave

I was just told that ES will be changing the top and bottom issues on the next available run of eyepieces....so the eye relief will be longer as they will no longer be recessing the top lens and the bottom field lens will be further away from the bottom cap.

Oops!!!

I just got a PM from someone @ ES and they won't be fixing the recessed top lens or the bottom part ON THE NEXT RUN.

I guess it will be some other time?

Cheers,
