This one is a good one, Mark. I bought used 10mm Delos recently, it looks even a little bit more sharper on Moon than my CZJ 0.965" O-10.

Now that's interesting. I've had phenomenal planetary views in my delos eyepieces, so I can believe that, but I'd be very interested in hearing any details about a head-to-head match-up between your 10mm delos and CZJ ortho, particularly on lunar and planetary targets.

I've actually had a similar experience, the Delos is better on the moon than both my CZJ 10mm orthos, but the orthos definitely win on Jupiter and Saturn. Haven't compared them for Mars or Venus yet. It's like the orthos get overwhelmed by all the light from the moon.

Congrats to both of you for the new Deloses. TV has been secretive how many lenses are used for them, so all that can be done is guess, 6-7-8? Alvin opened one up (6mm) but didn't do it completely to definitively say how many pieces of glass went into a Delos.

If counting camera light bulb reflections are an indication of the number of lenses therein, anyone's guess is just as good; seems that there are definitely more than 5.

Delos 6mm eye lens

Best,

I don't know why all the secrecy...

You know that ES has just gotta have one - Even more than some of us:-)

Probably had to do with all possible cloning done on previous TV lines, putting up specs makes it easier to copy; but an X-ray should show for sure - remember the Ethos 13mm side-by-side X-ray with the ES100-14mm? (See pic here).

Best,

"putting up specs makes it easier to copy"

Buying 1 eyepiece is nothing to ES; they don't have to read spec sheets:-).

They can tear it all down and determine the glass types, something you can't do looking at an X-Ray.

I think that there is a clone coming...

It seems to be selling too good not to clone.

Chuck,

I agree. There's a huge gap at the lower end of their 68 degree line.

We need more options on this 70 degrees 20mm eye relief design, provided quality is close, equal or better to the XW/Delos. I wouldn't mind a bonus of 10 degrees, Nagler T4 evolution with Delos/Ethos innovations and a nice spread of focal lengths.
You'll like this eyepiece Markus. But you had no problem exchanging other eyepieces that you liked. I wonder what will be the next one.

I know I will really like the 10mm Delos. I'm also going to have to slow down on changing up eyepieces because this shipping thing will make me broke! LOL

Time to enjoy the ones I have now.
