Spent a little time last night in my front yard with 15x70 Burgess binos (and my 5" Mak)...

Just wanted to say that Lyra is a beautiful constellation in binoculars. Nice binocular doubles everywhere, one really red star (like the color of Betlegeuse) that held my attention for quite some time, and I could detect M57 (Ring) through my 15x70s. First time I've done that. Didn't look like much, but hey, I guess I can say I've done it now, right?

And though not in Lyra, I also checked out M13 in my binos. Pretty cool. In fact, I could detect M13 w/ my naked eye last night...from my light polluted front yard!

Anyway...I highly recommend spending some binocular-time in this region of the sky.

cheers,
jeff
